Some odds and ends.

When asked what he thinks about General Mattis becoming Secretary of Defense, Rob O’Neill (the man who killed Bin Laden) said, “General Mattis has a bear rug in his home, but it is not dead. It is just afraid to move.” Our enemies will look at America differently when they see Mattis as opposed to when they saw Obama.

And thanks to RB for sending this to me.

Several speakers at the Women’s March claiming to defend equal rights for women specifically attacked Israel, the only democracy in the Middle East. However, they ignored the profound abuse of women in countries like Saudi Arabia, Syria and Iran.

And thanks to PCoop for sending this to me.

How is it that Paul Krugman won a Nobel Prize in Economics? It must be the equivalent of the Obama Nobel Peace Prize. Krugman proclaimed at 1 AM on election night: “It really does now look like President Donald J. Trump, and markets are plunging. When might we expect them to recover? Frankly, I find it hard to care much, even though this is my specialty…  Still, I guess people want an answer: If the question is when markets will recover, a first-pass answer is never.

Mr. Nobel Laureate, the stock market not only recovered the next day but advanced. And the Dow Jones Industrial Average just topped 20,000. What an ultramaroon, as Bugs Bunny would say!

The 762 murders in Chicago last year are within 11% of the four year average for combat deaths in Iraq from 2004 – 2007. Non-fatal shootings can sometimes be a better barometer of the level of violence in a community. On that front, Chicago’s numbers are also pretty jaw dropping. The city recorded 3,550 shooting incidents and 4,331 shooting victims.

Seventy five percent of these murder victims were black Americans. Where are Black Lives Matter when you need them?

President Donald J. Trump met with the leaders of seven unions at the White House this Tuesday – every one of these leaders had backed Hillary Clinton. Following the meeting Teamsters General President James P. Hoffa (no friend to Republicans) released a statement praising the President. That is inclusiveness. That is how a president unites Americans.

Have you seen all of the campaign promises President Trump has already fulfilled. If Trump doesn’t do anything for the next four years he already accomplished more in two days than Obama did in two terms.

  1. Pat says:

I suggest a modification of your last sentence. “….accomplished more (to help Americans) than Obama…”. Obama accomplished much in 8 years with most hurting America and the majority of her citizens with some consequences yet to be realized.

  2. David L. Wood says:

It is not only reassuring but encouraging to observe the steadfastness of Mr. Trump, with his understanding and experience with free-market fundamentals of capitalism, in repudiating and reversing the eight years of the collectivist-socialism mentality of central, societal and economic organization headed by the Obama administration. His reversal of the political coercive rules and regulations of socialism, and reintroducing the basics of creating legitimate and valid wealth are being restored to the great United States. It is about time that the mentality of respect for property, law and order and the freedom of choice to the individual, which built this country in the first place, are having a strong and vigorous beginning to restore the building steps to a strong economy and nation.
