It appears that Vladimir Putin wasn’t listening. Shame on him. He didn’t listen to the person who thinks he is the greatest American leader of all time.

Perhaps you recall our illustrious current President yet again lecturing Americans about foreign policy and why it’s his way or the highway.
“There isn’t a scenario absent of us deploying large numbers of troops that we can stop a civil war where both sides are dug in.” For the moment I will not comment on a Harvard Law School graduate ending his sentence with a preposition and concentrate on the gist of this proclamation.
Was there a military solution to the the Syrian civil war” It appears so. Russia stepped in militarily and WON THE WAR FOR THE WRONG SIDE!
Did Russia “deploy large numbers of troops?” Not that I was able to see.
The President assured us that “There hasn’t been probably a week that has gone by in which I haven’t reexamined” the way in which we are handling Syria and “haven’t gone through other options we have.” I guess that while he was “going through other options” he didn’t tune in to the nightly news about how Russia was successfully helping Assad stay in power by WINNING the Syrian war with limited air power.
Even with the constant reassessments, he said he has continued to stand by the belief that changing the dynamic in Syria and helping to end the civil war there would require a large number of ground troops and a sustained commitment of them – a commitment he doesn’t believe is in the U.S. interest.
“In these cases, you have to make judgments about what is in the best interest of the United States – even when what you see is heartbreaking,” he said. Yes, it is definitely in the “best interest of the United States” to have Russia, Iran, and soon Syria again dominating the Middle East.
As Bugs Bunny would have said, “What an ultramaroon!”
