My favorite quote from the favorite son of Oklahoma (Will Rogers) was in response to the remarks by a congressman who objected to “the words of a professional jokester (Rogers) being put into the Congressioal Record” following the insertion of one of his syndicated columns in that paper. To which Rogers wrote “compared to Congress, I’m just an amateur. When I make a joke, people laugh. When Congress makes a joke, it becomes law”!
