I suppose one problem is that you need to have been around for a while to answer one of the questions (50 years for question one). Also, I wonder if those answering the last question are aware that we have spent $22 trillion on antipoverty programs (the so-called War on Poverty) since 1966. Adjusted for inflation, this spending (which does not include Social Security or Medicare) is three times the cost of all U.S. military wars since the American Revolution. The means-tested welfare system consists of 79 federal programs providing cash, food, housing, medical care, social services, training, and targeted education aid to poor and low-income Americans. Perhaps the “the government” should try doing “less.”
